It is a great honour for the United Methodist Church in Norway to invite you to the Northern Europe and Eurasia Central Conference. The Conference will take place in Fredrikstad, Norway from October 19 to 23, 2016.
Fredrikstad was the birthplace of Methodism in Norway. Ole Peter Petersen, a sailor from Fredrikstad, met Methodism in the late 1840s in New York and brought it back to his homeland. Since that, The United Methodist Church has spread all over Norway so that today we are 47 congregations and around 12000 members.
In Fredrikstad we have two churches which are the local hosts for the Central Conference. We hope that you will experience modern Norwegian Methodism as you will meet all generations in our two churches.
The theme for the conference is "In God we live, move and exist” (acts 17.28) which will challenge us during the Conference and, hopefully, during the next quadrennium.
We sincerely hope that the Central Conference will help us to discover all the things God is doing in our churches and inspire us to walk in the footsteps of Jesus Christ
